This free competition allows residents, schools and other organisations to showcase their hard work in the garden and gain recognition for their acheivements in the form of awards and prizes. The competition is open to every resident, school, business, club or other organisation in the parish of Aylesbury Town, and is judged by some of the best gardening professionals in the town. We welcome gardeners of all types, beginners or seasoned professionals, young or old, and gardens of all sizes and types. So anyone in the Parish of Aylesbury Town can enter! We've even introduced a new category this year: the 'Young Gardener' to encourage and reward those young green fingers.
We've also expanded our old 'Commercial property' section to a new section, 'Businesses, Clubs and other Organisations' which encompasses all different types of organisations in Aylesbury, including clubs, community centres, scout groups, public sector properties, doctors, hospitals, dentists, charities and, of course, businesses!
As well as rewarding hard work and enthusiasm in the garden, the results of the Aylesbury in Bloom competition go towards Aylesbury's application for the national Britain in Bloom competion, managed by the Royal Horticultural Society. It is YOUR hard work that has helped the town's “scores” in the competition rise from just scraping a Silver Award to a Silver Gilt within a few points of gaining a Gold Award. This is down to the hard work of the residents and schools – so a big THANK YOU goes out to all those who have entered!
