Macmillan Cancer Support: World’s Biggest Coffee Morning Internship

3 months from 4 July – 7 October 2011

This year Macmillan Cancer Support is looking to raise £8.4million from their flagship fundraising event, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. We are looking for a talented individual to join the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Fundraising Team to manage this project from start to finish. This is a chance to gain fantastic skills, be part of a supportive and inspiring team and to help Macmillan improve the lives of 2 million people living with cancer.

We’re looking for someone who wants to be a major part of one of the UK’s most successful fundraising events, gain unrivalled charity fundraising, marketing, media and PR experience and make a last difference to people living with cancer.

As part of the Macmillan team, the intern will help to:

-          Grow our flagship World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event

-          Work on marketing and PR with our media partners

-          Provide excellent donor care to all of our supporters

-          Eat a lot of coffee and cake!

What are we looking for?

A talented individual with bags of enthusiasm, strong organisational capabilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The internship is 3-5 day a week role, Monday to Friday from 4 July to 7 October 2011.

What are the benefits?

This opportunity is aimed at people interested in fundraising, events, PR or marketing and those wanting to move into the charity sector. You will gain hands-on experience of charity fundraising in a highly successful national charity, enhance your CV and develop skills such as presenting, PR, events management, marketing, donor care, planning and strategy, working with volunteers, project management and research.

Will my expenses be paid?

The internship is unpaid but we pay volunteers’ “out-of-pocket” expenses within agreed guidelines which will cover your lunch and travel.

Will I need my own transport?

Having your own transport is desirable but not essential as the office has good transport links.
