Aylesbury's answer to the most British classical music festival there is!
While the worlds’ greatest classical music festival goes on in the Royal Albert hall, Aylesbury will stage its very own answer to the Proms in Vale Park. ‘Proms in the Park’ will incorporate some classic pieces, such as Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory, and, of course, Rule Britannia.
Performers this year include the wonderful soprano Jill Neenan, who has performed at such prestigious venues as The London Palladium and Schonbruun Palace, Vienna. Jill will be joined by Classical singer Richard Stark, who currently performs at operas and concerts all over the country. Both singers will be expertly accompanied by the Aylesbury Concert Band who always come up with a few surprise pieces and perform music that everyone will know and enjoy.
The performers will be singing and playing on the night on a stage set up just for the occasion – just like the real Proms! Don’t forget to get your Union Jack flags (and programmes) from the Aylesbury Town Council stand to wave throughout the evening, and why not bring a picnic and settle down in front of the stage before the evening begins? Everyone is welcome, and the best thing is Proms in the Park is completely free!
