SWIMMING STAR SPLASHES THE CASH
A local young swimmer has been granted some well earned support for the future by Aylesbury Town Council. Ollie Brewer, 18, was awarded a grant for £1,000 to be used for travel and accommodation expenses for swimming competitions. Councillors Mrs Ranjula Takodra, Kevin Peters, David Ralph and Mark Willis from Aylesbury Town Council’s Sports Grant Committee presented Ollie with his cheque.
Ollie is a member of the Maxwell Swimming Club at Aqua Vale and has recently gained a silver and two bronze medals in the South East Regional and Youth Championships. Ollie has a vigorous training regime and has recently been improving on his personal best times. He hopes to continue to improve on his performance, and will be attending a swimming training camp in Majorca this October.
“Aylesbury Town Council are happy to support the Town’s young athletes in their pursuit of excellence and this grant will help Ollie compete at the highest level,” said Cllr Mark Willis. “Ollie has shown by breaking his personal best that he is an athlete for the future, locally and nationally.”
