The Council

Aylesbury Town Council has 24 councillors (see Councillor Profiles), each elected for a term of four years. The last election was held in May 2011. Each year, a Town Mayor, a Deputy Mayor and a Treasurer are elected at the Annual Meeting of the Council, which is held in May.

The Town is divided into the following 10 wards:

Aylesbury Central
Bedgrove
Elmhurst
Gatehouse
Oakfield
Oxford Road
Mandeville and Elm Farm
Quarrendon
Southcourt
Walton Court

The procedures and business of the council are conducted according to the council's Standing Orders. The council has adopted a the national Code of Conduct which governs the behaviour of all Members.
