SEASIDE TO COME TO AYLESBURY FOR THE DAY - REMEMBER YOUR SUNCREAM!

Residents of Aylesbury can enjoy being by the sea for once as the beach comes to Aylesbury for the day on Sunday, 11th July. Aylesbury-on-Sea, which will take place in Kingsbury, is a free event organised by Aylesbury Town Council incorporating seaside activities for all ages.

Visitors can try their luck at the coconut shy, have a go on the giant test of strength, or play traditional hoop-la to win prizes ranging from sweets to yo-yos and, of course, coconuts! Jardines’ Skittle Alley and the giant Mix 96 inflatable slide will be there, along with no less than six sandpits with buckets and spades. Families can also take a trip around Kingsbury in the hugely popular smiley train, which will be available all day for free.

There'll be entertainment to suit all throughout the day including the fabulous Mr Alexander’s Travelling Show, combining magic, juggling and unicycling to fantastic effect! Families can enjoy lounging in stripy seaside deckchairs while Alvin Roy’s Jazz band or a traditional sea-shanty singer entertains them, and children (or adults!) can have a go at hook-an-Aylesbury-Duck, try the surfboard simulator or be enthralled by the hugely entertaining Colonel Custard.

It just wouldn’t be the seaside without fish and chips, candy floss or ice cream, all of which will be available in Kingsbury on the day. The flavour of the seaside will also be available in the form of Aylesbury’s very own rock, available on the day from the Aylesbury Town Council stand.

There’ll be plenty of activity in Market Square too. Summer Sunday music this weekend takes us ‘back to the 50’s’ with Rock-n-Roll numbers from 11.30am – 2pm, and the fairground carousel and teacups will also be available all day for free.
