Aylesbury HP19 8EN
Now is the chance for you to take part in Aylesbury’s forth Soapbox Derby, in an attempt to take home one of three amazing trophies. Over the past 3 years, we have seen some truly inspired karts race through Whitehill Park, from the fast and furious, sleek and lean karts made for speed, to the bizarre and obscure karts which have been designed, built and decorated purely for the fun of the day.
Registrations for the 2018 race open on Thursday 1st March. Please select the links below to download the Registration Form and Introduction and Rules & Regulations, you may then submit your completed registration form via email.
It’s then time to start planning, building, tweaking and perfecting your lean mean, racing machine, powered by sheer courage, the gravity of a hill and the big push that you give at the start line.
Held on Father’s Day, Sunday 17th June, this is a great opportunity to work together with your family and friends over weekends and the school holidays, creating a kart which will speed you across the finish line (hopefully in first place). There are two racing categories, with trophies for the winning teams and medals for second and third places. Categories for Junior drivers (15 years old and under) and Senior drivers (16 years old and over). There will also be a trophy for the “Best Looking Kart” as voted for by the public on the day. It’s time to let your imagination run wild, will you be racing in a slice of cake, as a pirate ship or the colours of your favourite football team – using recycled materials, team work and a big dose of creativity, anything is possible.
Whitehill Park is the setting for this exciting and thrilling event, open to everyone whether you have built a kart or would just like to come along as a spectator and enjoy a host of other activities on offer including music, go-karts, Ride-on Little Tikes for the little ones, swing boats, face painting, crafts, games and much more, all for FREE. There is no cost to participate or spectate, so come along and enjoy a fun packed day. This year there will be a BBQ on site, along with The Works with their very popular ice-cream bike, and The Coffee Stop, should you get hungry or thirsty. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic, should you wish.
