Aylesbury Town Council’s grants programme could help turn 2020 into a more positive and encouraging year for community groups and charities after many have been struck with financial difficulty during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Town Council’s Grants Committee meet four times a year to discuss where their £50,000 budget will be distributed. Past recipients include Bucks Vision, Queen’s Park Arts Centre and Aylesbury Foodbank.

The grant types available to apply for are general grants, social grants and wellbeing grants which are vital to groups who need help with their finances at this unique time.

Town Mayor, Councillor Mike Smith, said: “Our Grants Programme allows the Town Council to help local organisations to fund amazing local projects and initiatives that currently might be difficult to fundraise for. Now more than ever, these local groups need support, so we hope to see many applicants in time for our October deadline.”

If you are involved with an organisation that might like to benefit from one of these grants and would like to be considered, the deadline for grant applications is Wednesday 7 October at 5pm. Please visit www.bit.ly/GrantsOct2020 to apply and find out more information.
