Aylesbury Town Council brought the beach to Vale Park at their annual Aylesbury on Sea event. 60 tonnes of sand took over the town’s largest park on Sunday 3 July.

The free-to-attend event welcomed more than 5,000 residents of all ages for a vibrant day of fun and activities including prize bingo, a super soaker arena, arts, crafts, face painting and seaside fairground rides.

Unbound Theatre from Queens Park Arts Centre entertained the crowds with their performances of The Three Musketeers along with traditional Punch & Judy shows and a visit from a mermaid.

Families built sandcastles in the sunshine and enjoyed food and drink served by local food retailers.

The Mayor of Aylesbury, Cllr Tim Dixon, said: “This is a brilliant free event for all to enjoy. I loved seeing how this event has grown and provided a day of activities in the centre of town for free with some excellent attractions to keep residents entertained.

“It was also great meeting with so many people and talking about the two charities I am supporting this year – Emmett’s Genies and Aylesbury Foodbank.”
