With the easing of lockdown and in accordance with England Netball Covid-19 guidelines the Club is keen to return to netball in September 2021. To make it happen AJNC need a variety of new enthusiastic, dedicated volunteers and professionals to join our existing excellent team.
To help keep this fabulous club running we require new committee members, EN qualified netball coaches/officials and other volunteers who can provide valuable support to the coaches and umpires to assist with the smooth running of the Saturday morning training sessions.
The Club runs on Saturday mornings (8.30am-1pm) from September to May.
Aylesbury Junior Netball Club (AJNC) started in 1982 at Bedgrove Park, with a group of mums playing netball. Wanting to encourage their own children and their friends to play, the mums could not find any clubs for their daughters to play with others of similar ages and abilities. They decided to set up Aylesbury Junior Netball Club. For over 39 years Aylesbury Junior Netball Club has been encouraging girls and boys from school Year 4 (8yrs) to Year 10 (15yrs) to enjoy playing netball, many of whom stay with the club for the entire duration.
The club is open for anyone to ‘have a go’, and then should they wish, join the club, with over 100 girls attending each week. Most of those interested in joining the club have come via word of mouth from those already playing, be it school friends or friends of friends. Also, many of the older players have continued to develop their skills and continue playing, joining clubs at senior youth and adult levels. The club also supports ex-players (year 10/11 onwards), who are completing their Duke of Edinburgh awards, by offering placements to complete their DofE Skills and volunteering requirements during the season.
