The below outlines the category available in the organisations/businesses garden competition and the judging criteria with the number of points achievable.
Best Communal Garden
Awarded to an area where the garden and displays have been created for the benefit and enjoyment of the wider community. This may include a street entry, community project, business premises and shared gardens. Judges will look at the most appropriate positioning of displays, innovation in design, health and vigour along with plant selection and structure. Judges will also assess measures to reduce watering and sustainable cultivation methods. The use of contractors should not de-merit an entry but special consideration should be given where the work is carried out by residents/volunteers working to a common aim.
