Sunday 19 June, FREE EVENT

Aylesbury’s second Soapbox Derby, was a fantastic day out for many families from across the Vale, with over 1000 visitors cheering on the 13 Junior and 9 Senior teams that took part.  The time, effort, skill and commitment that had gone into each and every kart was very obvious – with designs ranging from the very simple, to a fast pink shark, a fury rat and even an Aylesbury Duck which laid “eggs” on route.

Spectators were treated to 4 exhilarating runs from each of the karts, in addition there was music from DJ Dan Blaze, a mega slide, bouncy castle, face painting, crafts and sumo suits – all for free.

Refreshments were available from The Works, Coffee Stop and Just Baguettes, which kept the excited crowd fuelled throughout the day.

Aylesbury Town Council introduced this event to the town last year, in the hope of encouraging interaction between families and groups of friends and to provide a free community event for everyone to enjoy – this was certainly achieved, and we are looking forward to more fun in 2017.
