Moonday @ Friars Square | Aylesbury | England | United Kingdom

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the first landing on the Moon, Aylesbury Town Council with UKAstronomy are bringing all things space to Friars Square Shopping Centre on Saturday 20th July.

From 10am – 4pm the centre will be filled with a huge variety of games, crafts, activities and information about the moon landing and the wonders of space.  Meet a NASA Solar Ambassador, learn the skills needed to become an astronaut, find out about the phases of the moon, touch a real piece of moon rock, explore how moon craters are formed, understand about relative weight on different planets, make and launch your own space rocket, and so so so much more.

Art works from local schools will be on display including factual posters about the Moon Landing and what their ideal moon base would look like now.

So if you’ve ever looked up at the sky and gazed at the moon, stars and space – then this is an amazing opportunity to find out more and maybe even spark an interest in astronomy.
