Celebrating England's patron saint

On the Sunday nearest to St George’s Day (23 April) we celebrate England’s patron saint at our St George’s Day Historical Fayre and Parade. This is a completely free event and is open to Aylesbury’s residents and visitors alike!

The event is different every year, but it usually consists of talks and demonstrations, shows and walk-about entertainment, crafts and games, performances and reenactments, as well as quizzes and music! It’s always concluded with a Grand Uniformed Parade, led by St George on horseback and featuring representatives from local uniformed youth groups, followed by a brief Service of Thanks and renewal of pledges.

The event takes place across the Town Centre, with entertainment and activities in multiple locations including indoor and outdoor spaces. Please take a look at our Accessibility at Events page.

We work closely with local venues and entertainment providers to put on this amazing, fun-filled, family event, and we couldn’t do it without them! Check out our events calendar to see more details about the specific venues and entertainment at the next St Georges Day Historical Fayre and Parade – we can’t wait to see you there!
