From wildlife gardens to cottage gardens, allotment gardens to Mediterranean gardens, gardens created collectively and gardens varying in different shapes and sizes – there was a whole range of different ones, each showing off their uniqueness in Aylesbury Town Council’s Aylesbury in Bloom Garden Competition.
Residents, businesses and organisations were awarded prizes by Cllr Anders Christensen at the Aylesbury in Bloom Garden Competition Awards Evening on Thursday 20 October.
Points were given for various criteria by knowledgeable judges who kindly gave their time to support the competition. The overall number of points determined whether entrants would get a Certificate, Bronze, Silver, Silver Gilt or Gold award.
Awards for the Residents category were revealed at the Railway Club on Thursday evening. The categories were Best Front Garden, Best Back Garden, Best Container Garden, Best Edible Garden, Best Wildlife Garden, Best Communal Garden and Best Community Edible Garden.
Schools which entered the Garden Competition were presented with their awards in June. Click here to view the results for the Schools category.
The Town Council’s Aylesbury in Bloom Garden Competition will be back next summer. We would like to thank all those who took part and a special thank you to Michael Anthony for sponsoring the competition.
